Community Heart-for-you.

The Community Heart-for-you is TikTok's collective customization layer on top of the Heart-for-you Gift. Fan Club members spend the popularity points they've accumulated from gifting to activate items in five outfit slots: hands, face, head, outfit, skin. Each item costs a specific point amount and stays equipped for between one minute and one hour depending on the slot and price. The decorated Heart appears in the creator's LIVE when fans send it, on the Popular LIVE ranking, and triggers a special stunning-hammer effect during LIVE matches.

How does the Community Heart-for-you work?

Fans spend popularity points to activate items on five slots of the Heart-for-you Gift (hands, face, head, outfit, skin). Each activated item runs from 1 minute to 1 hour. If no new item is activated for a slot, the existing one stays for 7 days then resets to default. Activated items are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for points or money.

Five slots, one collective avatar

Each slot holds one item at a time. When a fan activates a new item for a slot, it replaces what was there — first-come, first-served once a duration expires. The fact that the avatar belongs to no single fan is the whole point: it's the creator's identity, decorated by the club, visible to every viewer who sees the Heart-for-you Gift sent in chat.

Point economy and item cost

Popularity points are earned by gifting in the creator's LIVE. The cost of each item is displayed before activation, deducted on tap. Per TikTok Support, the points required vary per slot and per item — head and outfit slots typically run higher than hands and skin. The economy is intentionally non-symmetric to push fans toward repeat gifting rather than one-shot activations.

Activation duration window

Once an item is activated, it stays equipped for a duration ranging from one minute to one hour, calibrated to the slot and the point cost. The duration appears on the Community Heart screen at activation, so the fan knows when their item will be replaceable. Higher-cost items run longer — the system rewards bigger investments with longer visibility.

The 7-day idle rule

If no new item is activated for a slot during a 7-day window, the current item stays in place that whole period, then resets to the default appearance. This means a single late-night activation can keep a slot decorated for a full week if no one else activates that slot — useful for niche slots like skin or hands, where competition is lower.

Real-time contributor visibility

The Community Heart screen displays who contributed each item, when, and what it costs. Fans see their username next to the slot they decorated — a public credit that drives FOMO among lurkers. Creators who screen-share the panel during the LIVE (or shout out the most recent contributor) accelerate the rate of fresh activations.

Frequently asked questions

  • No. Per TikTok Support, activated items are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for popularity points or any monetary value. The decision is final at the moment of activation — the system is designed this way to make the per-item commitment count.
