What is the Creator Team?

Creator Team is a built-in LIVE feature that lets any viewer join your team by sending a « Heart for you » Gift worth 1 Coin. That minimal gesture — less than a cent — locks the viewer into an ongoing relationship with you: they become a member, earn a team name, and trigger a point system that climbs you up the ranking.

This team mechanic is what makes the Popular LIVE ranking different from the other two: you do not play alone, you play with your tribe. The more active your tribe, the higher you climb. A creator with 50 highly active members can decisively outrank a creator with 500 passive viewers.

How team points are calculated

TikTok ranks teams by total team points. Points come from your members' actions during their TikTok consumption — not only in your LIVE, but across their daily TikTok use.

The member mission table

• Send a « Heart for you »: +25 points per day (once per day per member).
• Add a comment: +10 points per day.
• Send Gifts: +1 point per Coin spent.

On top of these missions, a dedicated channel: the Popular Vote Gift.

Popular Vote and the 8-9 PM bonus

Members can send a special Gift called Popular Vote, worth 1 Coin. Each Vote scores 1 point for the creator's team.

The decisive lever is the bonus window: between 8 PM and 9 PM, every Popular Vote scores 2 points instead of 1. Over a full hour, it is the difference between an average day and a Top 20 day.

Creator rewards — by ranking position

The ranking rewards different things depending on the final position. The update runs every 24 hours.

Nº 1

Three cumulative rewards:

• Going-LIVE announcement — when nº 1 starts a LIVE for the first time after the results update, a notification appears in every ongoing LIVE on the server.
• Ranking announcement — visible to viewers in their own LIVE.
• LIVE name frame and Portal to LIVE — the portal randomly appears in other creators' LIVE rooms, letting viewers reach them in one tap.

Nº 2 and 3

• Ranking announcement.
• LIVE name frame.
• Portal to LIVE.

Nº 4 to 10

• Ranking announcement.

The real-time Top 10 bonus

TikTok continuously identifies the 10 best creator teams in real time and slots them into Featured Searches. The creator's profile is featured on the search page while their LIVE is running, pulling traffic of a totally different kind — viewers searching actively, much higher intent.

Viewer rewards

TikTok also upgrades the viewer experience inside Top 20 LIVEs. Two dedicated Gifts are available only in those rooms:

• Upgraded « Heart for you » — 1 Coin. Visually enhanced version of the regular Heart, a status signal for the viewer.
• Trending Figure — 999 Coins. Premium Gift reserved for ranked rooms.

These Gifts do not generate more team points than the regular version: their value is social and symbolic, for the viewer and the creator. A prestige signal that circulates inside the community.

Popular LIVE eligibility

Every LIVE creator with access to Creator Team under TikTok terms and policies is automatically eligible. If Creator Team is not active on your account yet, you cannot be ranked — that is the main prerequisite.

On top of that prerequisite, the same ineligibility rules as the other two rankings apply. LIVEs in any of these categories automatically drop out:

• « Pay to support » promotion on sensitive topics.
• LIVE during an ongoing tragedy or with a false-victim posture.
• Engagement manipulation (« follow for follow », etc.).
• Aggressive Gift solicitation.
• Violations of TikTok Community Guidelines.

Group-LIVE specific rules also apply: no more than twice in 30 days, no more than once in your last 10 LIVE sessions.

Opt-out and disable

As with the other rankings, you can opt out at any time. Two methods:

• Before the LIVE: from the « Go LIVE » screen, tap Settings > Rankings.
• During the LIVE: tap More (•••) > Settings > Rankings.

Once opted out, the team points your members generate no longer climb you in the ranking and you are not displayed on public lists. You can opt back in the same way at any time.

The Popular LIVE ranking rewards community activation, not raw Diamonds. Three principles the agency applies for its senior creators:

First principle: make the team mission a daily ritual. Reserve a fixed window for your members inside every LIVE — for example, the first five minutes spent celebrating those who already completed their daily mission. You turn a directive into a habit, and habit is what produces consistency.

Second principle: work the 8-9 PM window. Schedule a LIVE every day that starts at 7:45 PM and runs at least until 9:15 PM. Tell your members explicitly that this is the window where their Popular Votes double — they always respond when they know their effort scores twice.

Third principle: aim for Top 10 to get into Featured Searches. The gap from rank 20 to rank 10 is not huge — often a few dozen concentrated Popular Votes on a good evening. The return is asymmetric: moving from 20 to 10 means moving from internal visibility to discovery-side visibility.
